BIOS 621 - ADVANCED IMMUNOLOGY

A study of the molecular and cellular processes of immune system function. Topics include innate immunity, recognition of antigen and antigen receptor structure, lymphocyte development, antigen presentation, effector functions, immunodeficiency, allergy, and autoimmune diseases. Metacognition will be encouraged and assessed via primary literature readings and leadership of at least one journal club session. Three hours of lecture.
