COUN 732 - SOCIAL AND CULTURAL FOUNDATIONS IN COUNSELING

An overview of social and cultural backgrounds of minority groups and how the various backgrounds affect an individual’s participation in, and responsiveness to, counseling. Emphasis will be on adjusting counseling techniques to fit the social and cultural background of the client. Three hours of lecture or equivalent.
