ENGL 681 - THEORY AND PRACTICE OF COMPOSITION

A broad survey of the evolution of composition theory from the field’s inception to the present. The course will explore varying methods, techniques, and notions of composition theory and pedagogy. Students will also examine scholarly movements in composition theory such as the process movement, the cognitive view of writing, the social “turn” in composition theory, and others. Three hours of seminar.
