ENSC 420 - PALEOANALYSIS: LAKES AND ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGE

3 Credit Hour(s)
An interdisciplinary course focusing on human-environmental interactions within recent geologic history. Interpretation of environmental change recorded in lake sediments. Regional focus on the Red River Basin lakes with emphasis on complex interactions between urbanized centers and natural systems within Upper Holocene geologic time frame (5000 years ago - present). Geo-indicators of rapid environmental change (e.g. sediment stream storage and load) investigated to develop understanding of the dynamic relationships between anthropogenic and geogenic sources and processes. Three hours of lecture. Also listed as GEOL 420 .

Prerequisite(s): GEOL 105
