The development of the cinema in Latin America from its origins to the present. Films are approached in a historical, sociopolitical, literary, and aesthetic context. Films are in Spanish with English subtitles, and lectures and class discussion are conducted in English. Three hours of lecture. Also listed as SPAN 405.
