MATH 126 - ELEMENTARY APPLIED CALCULUS 3 Credit Hour(s) Introduction to differential and integral calculus, with an emphasis on applications, designed primarily for business, economic, social sciences, biological sciences and behavioral sciences. Topics include limits, the first and second derivative, the first and second derivative tests for relative extrema, exponential and logarithmic functions, the definite and indefinite integral, and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. Calculus will be used to solve real world applications. This course is not equivalent to MATH 221 (Calculus I) and does not serve as a prerequisite for MATH 222 (Calculus II). Three hours of lecture.
Prerequisite(s): MATH 121 or consent of the Department Louisiana Common Course #: CMAT 2103/Applied Calculus
