MATH 260 - ELEMENTARY STATISTICS

Some familiarity with Microsoft Excel is required. Descriptive statistics; Introduction to statistical concepts including measures of central tendency and dispersion; probability; discrete and continuous (including the binomial, Poisson, normal, Chi-square and T) distributions; sampling distributions; interval estimation; hypothesis testing; linear regression and correlations; and introduction to the use of statistical software packages. Three hours of lecture.
