BIOS 444 - MOLECULAR BASIS OF BRAIN DEVELOPMENT AND DEGENERATION

This course covers the molecular and cellular underpinnings of the various stages of brain development. A second part of the course covers the mechanisms underlying degenerative brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, prion disease, ALS) and spinomuscular ataxia (SMA). During the semester students will be required to present pub1ications describing important scientific discoveries related to neurodevelopment and neurodegeneration. Three hours of lecture
